Easily, your bathroom is a private area in your home. Your relationship with it is intimate and personal, that you sometimes overlook the fact that it also needs some proper care. Over time, there will be clutter in your cabinets, and the tiles are getting yellowish. However, it would help if you made it a habit to clean your bathroom. Not only will it make it much easier to use, but it will also promote safety.

Moreover, an organized bathroom may give you that spa-like experience, depending on how you arrange things within the space. If you are looking to improve the look and cleanliness of your home’s bath and toilet, here are some of the things you may want to keep in mind:

Throw away what’s not needed

You may not realize it, but your bathroom may be already teeming with items that you do not need anymore. Many of them may include expired prescription medicines and empty bottles of mouthwash and conditioners. Start going through your things and set aside those that you are supposed to throw away. This step is important, as you are trying to make sure that the bathroom is not cluttered with items that may potentially harm you (such as expired medicines and empty glass bottles that may fall onto the floor).

Start sorting

After getting rid of all the non-essential items, you will notice that all that’s left is a bundle of things that are part of your everyday routine. But don’t put them yet on the shelves in one go. You are supposed to sort them first. However, you must decide on what goes where. Will the freshly laundered towels be placed on the overhead shelf or under the vanity cabinet? Will the unopened soaps in a box near the toilet or not? Sorting your items will not only make your bathroom organized, but it will also help you find what you need more easily.

Install new shelves

clean bathroom concept

Sometimes, bathrooms get cluttered because there are not enough shelves and boxes that will contain all the items. What you should do is to install new shelves where you can keep your shampoos, new linens, and bathrobes. For example, a shower caddy may hold your shampoo bottles and shaver. The storage baskets under the sink may hold your towels. Over-the-toilet shelves make the best place for your toilet rolls. You also have the option to install customized shelves to suit the configurations of your bathroom.

Deep-clean it

Besides organizing the bathroom, it also needs to be deep-cleaned to get rid of tile stains and some molds on the walls. You can do it yourself or have it professionally done. Once you’re okay with it, do not forget to deodorize the space using a bathroom or linen spray.

Have a worthwhile shower experience

A plain-looking bathroom may end up resembling a spa because of how you cleaned and organized it. Complete the experience by bringing in some indoor flowers and aromatic candles. Every dip and shower will surely be worthwhile.
